Long Pond - Sheffield, VT
18 X 24 original acrylic painting on gallery-wrapped canvas.
A few years back we stumbled across Perry Holbrook State Park in Sheffield, VT and now we visit most summers when we’re in the NEK. It’s a hiking gem with trails along several ponds and to the top of Big Rock Hill. This is the view of Long Pond (the second pond on the trail system). You can see the Lowell wind turbines from this spot but I chose not to paint them for simplicity sake. On this visit my husband Brian brought his dip net to look for dragonfly larvae. Our then 5 and 9 year old boys carried the net and buckets the length of the hike, sometimes wearing them on their heads. Such is the life of children of two aquatic ecologists.
Ships unframed in a generously padded box. If you are local to Vermont you may also opt for “pickup” upon checkout at the Emile Gruppe Gallery in Jericho, VT.
