Hunger from the Hump - 5 X 7 Greeting Card

$5.00

5 X 7 reproduction of an original acrylic painting.

To paraphrase the perspective of my grandfather, the most important aspect of a painting is the design/composition, then the values, then color. The part I get most excited about is color, and I think if you have the first two elements, you can use whatever colors you like. In this painting I wanted a super-saturated effect, playing the cool rocks off the warm grasses and lichens perched on the top of Camel’s Hump, and a patchwork of late-fall color on the distant hill slopes of the Winooski valley. I like my paintings to have a certain energy to them and leave my brushstrokes and resulting shapes loose to accentuate movement. I don’t always achieve my intended goal, but I always learn something along the way. In this painting I was happy with the overall feel - can you feel that wind?

These cards include an envelope and protective sleeve. The size is perfect for sending a letter to a friend or framing as a small print.

Ships in a sturdy envelope. If you are local to Vermont you may also opt for “pickup” upon checkout at the Emile Gruppe Gallery in Jericho, VT.
