High Summer Low Flow
6 X 9 original watercolor and ink on paper
This riverscape of Mill Brook in Jericho, Vermont was painted at the height of summer when the water was low. When you return to the same place to paint over and over, you start to recognize certain rocks and trees as individuals and they start to take on a sentient quality. I think this is the most rewarding aspect of plein air painting - to see things as they are without the filter of thought.
Ships unframed and unmatted in a rigid envelope. If you are local to Vermont you may also opt for “pickup” upon checkout at the Emile Gruppe Gallery in Jericho, VT.
